I developed a very basic timeline for the standard wedding to help give you an idea on how long the day may take and point out some things to think about for what you may want a photographer for. Again, this is just a sample timeline and may in no way relate to what you are doing or even need. Please feel free to contact me about any questions you may have or to book a consultation!

SAMPLE WEDDING DAY TIMELINE (8 hours of coverage)

2:00 PM – I ARRIVE AND BEGIN TAKING PHOTOS

In this time, I like to photograph “details” such as the dress, shoes, jewelry, bouquet, and reception decorations. I’ll also get your preparation process such as getting your hair & makeup completed, and your bridesmaids as they get ready as well.

3:30 – BRIDE GETS DRESSED

Once your dress is on, it’s a great time to photograph your family or bridesmaids lacing or zipping up your dress. You’ll also be adding accessories such as ear rings, necklace, and shoes.

4:00 – GROOM FINAL PREPARATIONS

At this point I’ll move over to the groom’s side of things. Similar to the bride, I like to get photos putting on his tie, shoes, and accessories.

4:30 – PHOTOGRAPH GUESTS ARRIVING

5:00 – CEREMONY!!

5:30 – FAMILY PHOTOS

You’ll want to instruct your immediate families to stick around to do photos.

5:45 – WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS

Similar to your family, please make sure the wedding party knows to stay for pictures. We will do photos with the bridesmaids, groomsman, and anyone else associated with the wedding party.

6:00 – BRIDE & GROOM PHOTOS

At this point everyone else can leave for the reception. Outside of the actual ceremony, this is one of the most important photography moments.

6:30 – RECEPTION BEGINS!

The reception will already be underway with your guests and wedding party.

6:45 – GRAND ENTRANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS & FIRST DANCE

You don’t necessarily have to do the first dance at this point if you want, its up to you.
